Hue and Hoi An

Hue and Hoi An are situated on the east coast of the country, about midway between Hanoi and Saigon. Hue is a one-time capital city, and has some grandiose architecture, most of which is pockmarked with shells from the American War. Hoi An has been a trading center for a long time and continues to be a favorite of tourists. Despite that, hanging out with a beer at a cafe on the other side of the river afforded wonderful views of the working harbor and people going about their daily lives.

About the flowers. I alternate between being a traveler who is able to sidle up to people and get to know them, and being the semi-classical tourist who just looks at stuff. Flowers bring out the overawed tourist in me, particularly since I know nothing of the Vietnamese language. So I don't know the names of most of these flowers. When I figure them out, I'll add the names.
